I don't see how you expect anyone to see that this is a bike lane. There are no pavement markings and no signage. The other side of Blue Island is a different story, but this side has no indication of a bike lane.
I'm all for enforcing bike lane parking, but when there's no sign stating such and nothing on the pavement to indicate it, it's just a way for the city to make money. I have a car, too, and have been nailed by stupid city scams such as this one.
I've never received a ticket parking in this spot, but I've received tickets in plenty of other places in the city ripe with the "let's make it so it's no obvious" scam.
FYI, from what I understand from those who live in the building the parking lot north of the building is not owned by the building. It's a private lot and charges for parking.
BTW, bike lanes aren't a scam, but the fact that the city tries to enforce something when there is no clear signage or pavement markings certainly is... and this goes way beyond just bike lanes.
It goes to all types of bizarre parking/car tickets, the general citizenry and small business strong arming (was once present when an city inspector tried to bust a legitimate business for not having a license to provide services that he didn't even provide).
Now Daley wants the boot after two violations? That's for another website, I imagine.

lol, bike lanes are a scam?
Have you received a ticket for parking in this spot?
Some motorists make the "mistake" of parking underneath the viaduct here, a separate parking violation.
How come the motorists who reside in the condo building here don't utilize the parking lot to the north of the building and viaduct?
